This policy explains what personal information Car Fixers collects when you visit car-fixers.com, book a service, call us or message us, what we do with it, and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021).
1. Who we are
Car Fixers is a car repair workshop at 25F3+Q5, Jabal Ali First, Al Furjan, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We decide how your personal information is used, which makes us responsible for it. You can reach us at carfixer2407@gmail.com or +971 54 389 2008.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us, when you fill in a form, call, email or message us on WhatsApp:
- your name, phone number and email address;
- your vehicle's make, model, year and, if you choose to give it, its number plate;
- the service you need, your preferred dates and times, a description of the problem, and how you heard about us;
- your location, when you ask us to collect your car or send a mechanic or recovery to you.
Information created when we service your car, such as inspection notes, diagnostic results, photos of the vehicle, quotes, invoices and payment records. We do not take card details through this website.
Information collected automatically when you use the website: your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, the page that referred you, and whether you tapped our call, WhatsApp or directions buttons. This is collected through cookies and similar technology (see section 5).
3. How we use your information
- to answer your enquiry and confirm, change or remind you about an appointment;
- to inspect, repair, collect and deliver your vehicle, and to give you quotes and invoices;
- to honour any warranty on work we have done, and to keep service history for your car;
- to run, secure and improve the website;
- to measure which of our adverts and pages bring enquiries, so we spend less on adverts that do not help customers find us;
- to send you service reminders or offers, only if you have agreed to receive them;
- to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations and to resolve disputes.
We process your information because you have consented to it (for example, by ticking the box on our booking form), because we need it to provide the service you asked for, or because the law requires it. You can withdraw your consent at any time; this does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with:
- our own technicians and staff who need it to look after your car;
- service providers who work for us, such as our website host, our email provider, and Google (analytics and advertising measurement);
- WhatsApp (Meta), when you choose to message us there, under WhatsApp's own privacy policy;
- parts suppliers, recovery trucks or specialist partners, only when needed to complete your job, and only the details they need;
- your insurer, if you ask us to deal with them on an accident or insurance repair;
- the police, courts or other authorities, when UAE law requires us to.
5. Cookies, analytics and advertising
The website uses Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking. These set cookies that tell us how visitors find and use the site and which adverts lead to a call, a WhatsApp message or a booking. Google may process this information on its own servers. The site also stores your light or dark theme choice in your browser.
You can control this data:
- block or delete cookies in your browser settings (the site still works without them);
- turn off personalised adverts in your Google ad settings;
- install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
6. Transfers outside the UAE
Some of the providers in section 4, including Google, Meta and our hosting and email providers, may store or process data on servers outside the United Arab Emirates. Where that happens, we rely on providers that apply recognised safeguards to protect it.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Service records, invoices and payment records: for as long as UAE commercial and tax law requires us to keep business records, and for the length of any warranty on the work.
- Website analytics: up to 14 months, under the retention setting in our Google Analytics account.
8. How we protect it
The website runs over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, booking details are delivered only to our business inbox, and access to customer records is limited to the people who need them. No system is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information, such as card numbers or Emirates ID copies, through the website forms.
9. Your rights
Under UAE data protection law you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information, unless we must keep it by law;
- stop or limit how we use it, or object to a particular use;
- send your information to you or another provider in a usable format;
- stop sending you reminders or offers.
Email carfixer2407@gmail.com with your request. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the UAE Data Office.
10. Marketing messages
We only send service reminders or offers if you have agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to a message or by contacting us.
11. Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
12. Other websites
The website links to other sites, such as Google Maps and WhatsApp. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave car-fixers.com.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
